Gas prices are depressing ? What else is??

With high unemployment and prices of everything always going higher. It is easy to get depress. Even easer when you pull out that $60.00 – $100.00 to fill the car’s gas tank! About three years ago gas was only $1.80 per. gal., but now it is more like $3.80 per. gal. where I live. Now maybe it is only in my neck of the woods that gas prices are skyrocketing? But to say it so kids can read this ” It SUCKS!” Just a tension breaker.

Have you ever thought about just what other things we buy, in terms of a per. gal. price tag? Would it affect you and what your choosing to buy, if you knew this? At first I didn’t know if it would, but then having some time on my hands, and the nagging questions in my mind as to just what I’m paying for this over that?  It drove me to this quest to find out!

Hold on to your butt tho! You may think that some of these prices are just drug dealing over the top exorbitant prices. But NO! These prices that I have compiled all for you out there, are based on product size and the cost of them. Then doing the math to get to a per. 1 gallon price tag. Just to be able to compare these costs on products to the most used product gasolene, used by most of us on a regular basis. These products may be different from the ones that you use. Or the cost on these products may vary from place to place. But in general the per. gal. price is a reflection as well as a comparison to be made, as how much we pay for them vs. how much we pay for gas!

Product                                    Cost per.  1 Gal.

White vinegar                            $3.42

Milk                                            $3.75

O J Juice                                    $3.98

chocolate Milk                              $4.50

Pasta sauce                               $4.87

Lactose free Milk                       $6.08

motor oil                                    $7.20

Canola oil                                  $7.94

Gatorade at 7/11                       $8.42

Lemon juice                              $8.80

Chicken broth                           $9.05

Fast food pop drinks                $9.10

Vending machine pop’s         $10.66

Beef broth                              $10.97

Peanut butter                           $12.00

Dish soap                             $13.40

Mouth wash                           $14.15

Honey                                 $17.33

salad  dressings                      $20.00

petroleum jelly                      $25.47

Pomegranate juice                $29.28

House paint                         $32.00

Agave nectar sweeter        $33.39

Tooth paste                          $39.02

cheese wiz in jar                    $39.36

Extra virgin olive oil               $50.19

Anti-persperent                       $59.73

Sesame oil                             $124.41

Mixed drinks at a bar              $140.00

Eye wash solution                   $144.00

Nail polish                                $256.00

Hard liquor at bar on rocks       $384.00

Perfume average price               $2048.00

Systane ultra eyes

lub drops for extra dry eyes    $4134.78

Your probable thinking that we can get drunk at home cheaper than going to the bar? But what is the price of the fun? As well how do you put  ” fun ” in a per. 1 Gal. price comparison? In case you got started before the rest of us. Get some coffee and settle down somewhat from the shock.

Are the rest of you shocked yet? At the prices of products that you may use? I know with the alcohol who drinks these by the gallon? But the thought of how many drinks over the years you have had, and then the thought of how much money you have spent on them just for going out to the bar. I didn’t price beer, only because I don’t drink it. But what is the price of fun!!!??

Sure glad that putting alcohol in gas isn’t to popular here yet! The price will go up for sure.

Eye drops being that much? Yes when the bottle size was .3 of a oz. I don’t plan on drowning my eyes in this product just yet! But it works well.

Lady’s did you know that nail polish would be more of a cost to you who use it. When you consider that mostly the bottle goes hard before you get to finish it all?

With the cost of sesame oil! Just shows us all that chinese food is a great value by volume of serving size, but prices will go up soon I’m sure. Or I will be stir frying more at home, using my 3 oz bottle sparingly. Hope the flavor will not be affected too much by doing this? because chinese food is great! Tastes like it needs more… But how much will it cost me if I do that?

Well with all the bitchen I have done about the price of gas. I better re-think some things. I must be more grateful that my car doesn’t run on Systane ultra eye lub drops at that crazy price of $4134.78 per Gal. as compared to the price of regular gas of $3.79. I will just make more salad dressings like vinegar and oil at the $20.00 per gal. price range. No need to drowned myself or my salad with olive oil or vinegar! I will just decide to walk more when I can, so I can treat my dry eyes with one or two more drops per week! I wonder just how much one or two drops more per week will add up to over my life time? Some things just shouldn’t be known! Sorry!!

All the best!

  2. I like that you actually broke out all the numbers there. I think the worst thing is that when gas prices go up, so does the price of everything else due to the transportation.

People spend their money on such stupid shit then complain when the necessities cost too much. I think it’s the fact that it’s gas and we all in some way have to pay for it, makes it okay to yell about. The only solution is a car that doesn’t run on gas and everyone who invents that usually ends up killed.
