Dearly beloved, thanks for reading this post on the behalf of our coin the penny. We have come to see its decline, despite the long life it has had, it’s life of usefulness seems to have come to an end. Who really uses it anyway? Like all good things that all must come to an end, this one has been long over due. The penny has fought the illness long and well. We are sorry that the currency cancer has taken our friend over the rain bow for now. Rest in peace along our pathways of life, may someone scoop you up some day. More than likely, a 5-year-old looking to fill up a piggy bank. All just to buy gum! Hope they will not have to fight Ben Franklin for that one cent?
Penny’s are the scourge of the currency world that any government can make. Yes the coinage that could be the most under valued coin in the minds of our populist, but to the government it has a high cost of manufacture. Despite the coins abuse in the market place it is still money, or is it? Walking along my eyes automatically go to the ground just to see what is coming by way of trip hazards. But with this kind of views in my world as I walk along, just means that I run into my share of coinage! Well! Penny’s mostly that is. I guess people just look at the coin they just dropped and realize that it’s only a penny and don’t even bother picking it up. The way that I see it, there are only 100 of these lucky guys, and I will have a buck. But to most people they must only see to much of a bother for them to even make the effort in picking the coin up after dropping them. They must believe penny’s are not all that valuable, but ” penny’s from heaven! Are real money?”
Perhaps money of all sizes of denominations will hold so little value to us all someday? Penny’s today but, the nickel, dimes, quarters tomorrow? I can not wait for the paper dollar’s turn! Do to our governments over spending. But then it might hold a different value to all of us? Untill we get to the point of dropping some paper dollars, and not wanting to pick them up, as we all do with the penny. We should then rethink our position before we get to that point. Should we ever have a need for some butt wipe, our thoughts then will go are right back to “Damn should have picked that dollar up I guess!”
Do you pickup the penny when you see one? Seem like 5 year-olds still do! Well I do at times. Hay! Like I said already, pick up 100 of those baby’s and you have a buck! I know the buck doesn’t buy as much as it used to. But It still has more psychological value to it. I do know that gas for one, is at the price of $3.50 per gal.or so. Now that’s only 350 penny’s, but for how long? 3 Years ago the price was only $1.80 and that is only 180 penny’s for that gal. of gas. Because a dollar / buck, has lost more value than those penny’s, and with penny’s people are lazy in picking them back up. Leaves me to believe there is more loot to gain for free. Penny’s for nothing which leads to bucks for free!
The next time you all drop some of those penny’s think of me please? Soon the competition for those loose penny’s will get fierce, so no one needs to bend over and take the risk of throwing your back out, in trying to pick that lost penny’s. Let the professionals, like myself take those risks.
So when you are behind someone who is counting out the exact change of what they are buying with penny’s. Please have some patients. Times are tough out here, and penny’s from heaven will, and do help out to pay some things that are necessity of life. Dont blame me for the counting out of those one cent pieces. Blame the government who still thinks that the penny is still valid to produce, despite that fact of I’m one of the last people who still values this coin! Now just what was my count?? I know! I know! It is 6000 of these bad boys! I should have prepared for that $60.00 of gas. Just let me be so I can count this out! Then the penny can rest in peace.
All the best!
